From Left: Snoopy(I call him 區次郎 in chinese), Vegeta(肥比達), Garfield(加非貓), Christopher Lion, Halloween

Here’s me having a go at drawing cartoon animals and people with this cartoon illustration of favorite plush teddy friends that me and my brother owns as a little boy. I did this drawing as a little gift to my little brother’s Birthday this year, to commemorate the special teddy friends we cherish and cuddle as children.

I’ll introduce each character in the illustration, from the left is: My beloved Snoopy that I have since I was a baby(My chinese name for him is 區次郎), next to Snoopy we have Chubby Vegeta from DragonBall Z,(My brother’s bday gift) Garfield, (he really did come with a love heart in his hand) Christopher Lion, (Named after my brother, a puppet he got from the gift shop in Chester Zoo) Finally: Halloween the pumpkin friend.

Have you ever imagined when you were little, what it would be like if your childhood teddy friend that you love, came to life? Then they could really hang out with you and talk back and be your friend. Its a fine fantasy and wish but one which of course has never become reality, that’s why I’m especially looking forward to going to see the upcoming Hollywood movie – Ted. In it a teddy bear comes to life as the result of a child’s wish and imagination. Ted stays with his best friend and owner into his adult life, played by actor Mark Wahlberg, where as the voice of Ted the teddybear is provided by Seth Macfarlane creator of Family Guy. The movie is a comedy about the conflict that emerges when Ted’s irresponsible and vulgar slacker lifestyle comes in the way of John’s (Mark Wahlberg) attempt to embrace his adulthood and the woman of his dreams, Lori (babe Mila Kunis).

Go watch Ted in the cinemas from June 29th 2012 to see your imagination come to life! and also for a good laugh if you love comedies and are a fan of Seth Macfarlane’s voices and work on Family Guy.

Ted brings the party home!!

About Way of the Artchemist

Love of manga/anime, telling of stories in film and tv around sci-fi and fantasy, has influenced me to draw in the way that I do and, it's these interests that led me to the alternative media and made me question the nature of reality; exploring the ideas around consciousness, and the philosophies of life.
