Getting inspiration to draw from the TV

I was watching TV one day and I saw this girl that I really liked what she was wearing and her style looked really cool and hot. It was a drama and she was a high school student that was part of a band, she had on a sleeveless cardigan over a tight t-shirt top and this pretty, saucy mini skirt to go with it. Her look and image was really appealing to me, it just screamed party girl/rockstar! to me and I felt I just had to use it for my girl character’s design that I’m thinking to draw so, I memorized the image of what she’s wearing and went to work straight away to sketch what my ideal rockchick girl should look like while my inspiration and creativity is flowing. This was the end result check it out! I put the words rockchick fashion to help illustrate the girl singer I’ve drawn modelling what she’s wearing. I hope you’ll agree that what she’s got on is really stylish, smart and slick! Red is very sharp for anyone wearing a tight top and the cardigan is figure hugging and smart and casual. The skirt hangs there round her waist, it fans out and this touch is the perfect balance between really cute and sexy, that suits my taste.

There it is, the basic theme of clothes combination I grabbed from the tele, but the details and colours and add-ons from there on are all me. I got to try out my new complete set of 148 Letraset Promarkers on this drawing and I have to say it worked out swimmingly! The freedom of choice in the colours that i can use to illustrate her is an artist’s dream!

I just purchased and registered the domain for this week so I’m celebrating with this post here, all the best! my baby, may my online home go from strength to strength! All the Best to me!

About Way of the Artchemist

Love of manga/anime, telling of stories in film and tv around sci-fi and fantasy, has influenced me to draw in the way that I do and, it's these interests that led me to the alternative media and made me question the nature of reality; exploring the ideas around consciousness, and the philosophies of life.
