Asuna from Anime Sword Art Online. I drew this by looking at my Asuna Private Ver. the 1/8 scale figure. I’m so happy with how this turned out; because I found the right color of Letraset Promarker for the skin that I want to use which was vanilla that looks beautiful & cute.

I realize from drawing this how important shapes are to get right in a drawing, because it decides how realistic a study is and how beautiful the drawing can look and of course colors play a big part in that too. The shapes of strokes you make with a color pen is important to determine how well your picture will turn out, so practice your drawing, learn proportions, study perspectives and angles, sharpen your observation skills all you can, be loose with your hand movements flow when you draw, and let no lines and mark that you make be wasted!

I think this is the sexiest and most daring drawing I’ve ever done; I’ve captured some beautiful rounded shapes that shows Asuna’s femininity and cuteness, and sexiness all in one… notice the lines and curves of the arms, long beautiful legs, cleavage, neck and face shape.. capture them well and you’ll have a realistic and special drawing and painting. The name of the color marker I used for her skin base color is called vanilla.. that’s what Letraset assigns that color as. After much exploration with using different colored pens I’m so pleased that I’ve finally found the right skin color to use with coloring in that sort of manga character with. Now my manga/anime style color artwork is becoming more pro I’m so happy!

About Way of the Artchemist

Love of manga/anime, telling of stories in film and tv around sci-fi and fantasy, has influenced me to draw in the way that I do and, it's these interests that led me to the alternative media and made me question the nature of reality; exploring the ideas around consciousness, and the philosophies of life.
